Chen Kan is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington. He earned his doctorate degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 2018. Chen’s research is dedicated to the integration of advanced sensing and machine learning for knowledge discovery and performance improvement of complex systems and processes. His current research focuses on in-situ and ex-situ 3D point cloud analytics for anomaly detection and quality control of additive manufacturing. His research also involves healthcare informatics, analytical chemistry, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Chen is a member of IISE, INFORMS, IEEE, and SME.
