Dr. Cameron Turner is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Clemson University. He has prior experience as an Assistant and Associate Professor at the Colorado School of Mines and as a Technical Staff Member at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He is currently a leader of the Clemson Engineering Design Automation Research (CEDAR) group. His current research focuses on the development of engineering analytical methods for tradespace analysis, exploration and optimization in collaboration with the Virtual Prototyping for Ground Systems (VIPR-GS) Center in collaboration with the US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). He has published more than 200 technical articles in journals, refereed conference proceedings and books. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Association of Computing Machines (ACM), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), and The Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) amongst other professional organizations. Within ASME, Dr. Turner currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Computers and Information Science in Engineering (JCISE) and is a former Chair of the Computers and Information in Engineering (CIE) Division In addition to several best paper awards, Dr. Turner’s students have twice won the ASME CIE Division Best Dissertation Award, and Dr. Turner has been repeatedly recognized for his service to ASME, most recently with the ASME Computers and Information Engineering Division Outstanding Service Award and the ASME Design Engineering Division General Conference Chair Service Award in 2022.
